Leading Angel Investor, Sunil Kalra, Joins the Board of Directors at 1 Play Sports

India based Angel Investor, Managing Director at ViaProjects Pvt Ltd, and Venture Partner at Stride Ventures, Sunil Kalra, has joined the board of directors at 1 Play Sports Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based sports media content creation & streaming startup, effective June 2020.

Kalra, a marketing & international trade graduate from the University of Texas, Austin, USA, an investor in early-age tech companies since 2008, and with investments in over 100 companies across India, Singapore, USA, & Israel, sits on the boards of Indian Angel Network and several other startups. He is known for strategizing expansion, defining goals, and building networks for the companies he invests his expertise in and has been listed among the most prominent angel investors in India by Forbes.

Sunil began his career in the leather industry, for over a decade he served as the Founding Partner and Managing Director at BSLG Private Limited, a manufacturer and exporter of leather apparel, and worked with reputable brands including Donna Karen, Ann Taylor, Eddie Bauer, J Crew & Armani before exiting the industry. Between 2003 and 2013, Sunil was also actively involved in establishing the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in India and served on the Boards of Governors and Finance of the University.
