Singapore (10th August 2020): 1 Play Sports, the prime sports media content creation and streaming startup in Singapore, and Cuesports Singapore, a national sports association, have teamed up for the first live COVID-safe sports Match-Up in Singapore since the pandemic began. Together, they will produce and live stream 1 Play Cuesports Singapore 9 Ball Invitational Match-Up 2020 starting 10th August 2020.
All the matches of the 9 Ball Invitational, to be held from 10th August to 16th August, will be played in a COVID-safe environment at 1 Play Sports studio with only two players at a time adhering to social distancing and safe practice measures. Live streaming will be produced by a predominantly remote solution to adhere to social distancing.
Christopher Chuah, President, Cuesports Singapore, shared, “Cuesports Singapore is delighted to collaborate with 1 Play to organise this 9 Ball Invitational Match-Up. This achievement is particularly significant given the recent circuit breaker measures where all sporting activities had to cease. This Invitational marks our return to safe sports post circuit breaker and we hope to organise more events going forward where our athletes can continue to showcase their skills and talent.”
These match-ups, with a prize fund of SGD 2,300.00, will feature Singapore’s top eight players and two wild card qualifiers, selected by Cuesports Singapore, and be streamed globally on 1 Play Sports social media pages to put a spotlight on Singapore’s top players and develop local sports. Fans can watch the matches every night of the week from 10th August (Monday) to 16th August (Sunday) LIVE on 1 Play Sports social media platforms. The links to the live stream coverage will be shared with Cuesports Singapore, Sport Singapore TV, and other agreed entities.
The match-ups will also be streamed live to Indonesia on 1 Play Sports in Bahasa on the Genflix platform too as a result of a recent agreement between the two parties.
“As we look forward to the return of safe live sports, we understand that there are opportunities in the virtual and contained environments”, said Mohit Lalvani, CEO, 1 Play Sports. “This is a step in that direction and the development of some of our virtual tech solutions promises to make this an international quality Match-Up. I want to thank Cuesports Singapore for their support”, shared Mohit.
Viewers can tune in to 1 Play Sports social media channels for timing and more information on the Match-Ups'’ schedules.
